Rommie Williams, a 32-year-old African American male, was found dead on February 18, 2019, in his apartment on Essie McIntyre Boulevard in Augusta, Georgia. His body was discovered by his roommate with a gunshot wound to the forehead, and a pillow placed over his head. The Richmond County Coroner, Mark Bowen, confirmed that Williams died from at least one gunshot wound. The incident was immediately classified as a homicide, prompting an extensive investigation by local authorities.
