In the early morning hours of November 5, 2017, in Augusta, Georgia, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet outside the Heritage Apartments. When the echoes faded, 25-year-old Frederick Booker was left with multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Augusta University Medical Center, but his injuries proved to be fatal. The young man's life was cut short in an act of violence that would lead to a lengthy and complex legal battle for justice.
