Jaquavious Watkins, a 26-year-old male from Augusta, Georgia, who was Black/African American, died on May 21, 2025 after being shot on the 2500 block of Lumpkin Road. Deputies found the 26-year-old with at least one gunshot wound; he was rushed to Wellstar MCG Health and pronounced dead that evening as investigators from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office’s Criminal Investigation Division took over what they formally classified as a homicide.
