In the summer of 2019, on the Fourth of July, the life of 56-year-old Roger Dale Littleton of Toccoa, Georgia, was tragically cut short. A self-employed carpenter with a love for hunting and fishing, Littleton was a man who had spent most of his years in Stephens County. The night of the holiday took a dark turn when an argument escalated into fatal violence.
Habersham County deputies responded to a 911 call late in the evening, dispatching them to a residence on Antioch Church Road for a report of a possible aggravated assault. Upon their arrival, they discovered Littleton's body on the ground outside the home. Investigators determined that an argument between Littleton and another man had preceded the deadly encounter.
Authorities identified 53-year-old Jerry Nathaniel Wall of Habersham County as the individual involved in the dispute with Littleton. Wall was taken into custody at the scene without incident and was subsequently charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of Roger Dale Littleton. Wall was initially held in the Habersham County jail without bond.
