In the quiet community of Toccoa, Georgia, the life of 46-year-old Michael Junior Ivester was tragically cut short in what authorities would later describe as a murder-suicide. Ivester, a man known to work in the logging industry and with a passion for racing, was found deceased at his residence on Sunshine Church Road on Tuesday, May 2, 2017. His death, however, was believed to have occurred a day earlier, on May 1, 2017, from a gunshot wound.
