On November 4, 2019, John Lamar, a 50-year-old African American man, was fatally shot at a Texaco gas station in Stone Mountain, Georgia. The incident occurred around 1:45 a.m. on the 5200 block of Memorial Drive. According to reports, the altercation began between John Lamar and Amir Javed, a 26-year-old store clerk, during Javed's overnight shift.
