In the winter of 2020, a young man's life was cut short in what police believe was a domestic dispute. On the morning of December 29th, police responded to a call of a shooting at an apartment on Satellite Boulevard in Duluth, Georgia. Inside, they found 22-year-old Adaph Aimable suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators quickly began to piece together the events that led to the fatal shooting. Their attention soon turned to a young woman who may have visited Aimable shortly before he was killed. Just two days later, on New Year's Eve, an arrest was made in connection with the case. Gwinnett County Police, with the assistance of the Sheriff's Office, took 16-year-old Leslie Garcia-Juarez of Lilburn into custody.
While the specific details of the motive remained under investigation, authorities suggested that the shooting was the result of a domestic-related issue. Garcia-Juarez, though a teenager, was charged as an adult with felony murder and aggravated assault for her alleged role in the death of Adaph Aimable.
