On a Thursday evening in Duluth, Georgia, an altercation at the Paramount Apartment Homes on Pleasant Lake Village Lane ended in gunfire, leaving one man dead and another critically wounded. The Gwinnett County Police responded to a 911 call around 7:50 p.m. from a man who stated he had been shot and had shot back.
Upon arrival, officers discovered two men with gunshot wounds. Both were transported to a local hospital, where 29-year-old Faisal Nortey of Atlanta, a male, succumbed to his injuries. The second man, whose identity has not been publicly released, was admitted in critical but stable condition.
Investigators believe a dispute between Nortey and the other man escalated to a shootout. At the time of the initial reports, it was unclear who fired the first shot.
