On a Friday evening in July 2021, a violent encounter at a Duluth-area apartment complex left one man dead and two others wounded. The deceased was identified as 38-year-old Omar Torres. The incident, which unfolded at The Falls at Gwinnett Place on Satellite Boulevard, was a triple shooting that also injured Jose Torres, 22, and Erick Torres, 27. When Gwinnett County police responded to the scene around 8:30 p.m., they discovered Omar Torres had succumbed to his injuries.
