In the summer of 2021, a burst of gunfire shattered the evening quiet on Barrington Avenue in southeast Indianapolis, leaving a family and community to grapple with a sudden and tragic loss. On the night of June 16th, police responded to a call of a person shot at a residence in the 1500 block of the street. Inside, they found Preston Woods, a 40-year-old male, suffering from critical gunshot wounds.
