In the early morning hours of August 12, 2021, the life of 38-year-old Quinton Eugene Mosley, an African American male from Marietta, Georgia, was tragically cut short. The incident unfolded outside a Motel 6 on Delk Road in Marietta. Police received a 911 call around 8:05 a.m. reporting a man with a gunshot wound.
Upon their swift arrival, officers discovered Mosley lying in the outdoor breezeway near room 503.
Although he was alert, conscious, and breathing when emergency services reached him, he had sustained a serious gunshot injury. Mosley was quickly transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital for medical attention. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he ultimately succumbed to his injuries later that day.
The investigation into Mosley's death moved quickly, and through what police described as solid investigative work and valuable tips from the public, a suspect was identified. The following day, with the assistance of the Atlanta Police Department, authorities arrested 23-year-old Crystal Noemi Dominguez-Carvajal of Atlanta.
Dominguez-Carvajal was subsequently charged with felony murder and aggravated assault in connection with Quinton Mosley's death. She was booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center and held without bond. While an arrest was made, the motive for the shooting was not immediately made public, and the investigation was reported to be ongoing. The legal proceedings against Dominguez-Carvajal are expected to continue as the justice system seeks to bring closure to Mosley's family and community.
