Cortez Richardson, a 12-year-old African American boy, tragically lost his life on August 13, 2021, in Columbus, Georgia. Cortez was shot while riding in the back seat of his mother's vehicle near the intersection of Luna Drive and Armenda Drive. The family was returning home from dinner when their car was caught in the crossfire between two other vehicles, a white sedan and a white SUV.
