Reginald Lamont Grant II, a 30-year-old African American male from Columbus, GA, died on September 7, 2022, in a police-involved shooting. The incident occurred in the 4200 block of Earline Avenue. According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), the Columbus Police Department received a 911 call at 2:07 p.m. reporting a domestic disturbance in the area. A second 911 caller reported seeing a man, later identified as Grant, shooting a handgun into the air while driving on Earline Avenue.
