Reginald Lamont Grant II, a 30-year-old African American male, died on September 7, 2022, in Columbus, Georgia, following a confrontation with police. The incident began to unfold when the Columbus Police Department received a 911 call around 2:07 p.m. concerning a domestic disturbance in the 4200 block of Earline Avenue. A second 911 caller reported observing a man, later identified as Grant, firing a handgun into the air while driving in the same vicinity.
