In the late afternoon of Thursday, May 7, 2026, the quiet of a residential neighborhood in East Columbus, Georgia, was shattered by the sound of gunfire. When police responded to reports of a shooting on Merrywood Drive at approximately 5:20 p.m., they discovered 30-year-old Dean Lewis Hill, a Black male, suffering from a gunshot wound.
