On an autumn evening in Augusta, Georgia, a dispute outside a local restaurant escalated into deadly violence, claiming the life of Ashaad Truitt, a 31-year-old African American male. The incident, which unfolded on October 29, 2021, outside the Red Crab restaurant on Peach Orchard Road, also resulted in injury to a 28-year-old woman who was shot in the leg.
