In a tragic event that unfolded in their Augusta, Georgia, home, Dr. Charles A. Falcone, a 72-year-old male, and his wife, Nola Maddox Falcone, were found deceased on January 5, 2015. The discovery was made by a housekeeper at their residence located at 3106 Walton Way. The couple, who also had a home in Jupiter Island, Florida, where Dr. Falcone served as a town commissioner, were found with gunshot wounds.
Authorities from the Augusta Richmond County Coroner's office investigated the
deaths as an apparent murder-suicide. Following an autopsy conducted by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, it was determined that Charles Falcone was the victim of a homicide. Further investigation by the coroner's office pointed to Nola Falcone as the primary aggressor in the incident, indicating she shot her husband before taking her own life. Due to the nature of the event, there were no arrests or external suspects in the case.
Dr. Falcone was a distinguished individual with a Doctorate in Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. His wife, Nola, was a graduate of Duke University and was actively involved in various community and religious organizations. The couple is survived by their son. Funeral services for both Dr. and Mrs. Falcone were held together, with their interment at Westover Memorial Park.
