Death by Force

Tanya Askew, a 41-year-old African American woman, was tragically found dead on December 13, 2020, in Augusta, Georgia. The Richmond County Sheriff's Office responded to a call at 9:52 a.m. regarding a suspicious situation at the intersection of 2nd Street and Walker Street. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Tanya Askew with at least one gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:50 a.m. and her body was subsequently sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for an autopsy.
