Tekeil Lee Jr., a 16-year-old African American male from Augusta, Georgia, tragically lost his life on November 1, 2021. Tekeil, also known as "T.J.," was a sophomore at Hephzibah High School. On the evening of November 1, 2021, Tekeil was shot on Plantation Road, the street where he lived. He was transported to Augusta University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 3:47 a.m. on November 2, 2021. The incident occurred around 6:40 p.m., and Tekeil was shot at least once.
