On May 13, 2023, a deadly shootout occurred in Augusta, Georgia, involving rival motorcycle gangs, which resulted in the death of 30-year-old Keith Davis Coates of Valdosta, Georgia. The incident took place near the clubhouse of the Outcast Motorcycle Club, located on East Boundary, and along Sand Bar Ferry Road. The shootout was between members of the Outcast Motorcycle Club and the Thug Riders MC, a mixed-race biker gang primarily from Florida.
