Bruce Williford, a 28-year-old white male, tragically lost his life on February 2, 1987, in Augusta, Georgia. Deputy Williford was a dedicated member of the Richmond County Sheriff's Office, having served for seven years. On the day of his death, he was attempting to arrest a former deputy, Dennis Murray, on misdemeanor warrants related to non-payment of child support.
