On November 21, 2024, at approximately 7:13 a.m., Richmond County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of gunfire in the 500 block of Highland Avenue in Augusta, Georgia. Upon arrival, they discovered 50-year-old Chavious Kimmerlin unresponsive inside his residence, having sustained at least one gunshot wound. Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen pronounced Kimmerlin deceased at the scene at 8:00 a.m., and an autopsy was scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.
