In the late spring of 2019, a dispute over a small sum of money tragically escalated, leading to the death of a young man in Augusta, Georgia. Sanquan V. Sims, a 24-year-old African American male, was shot and killed on May 23, 2019, at the Magnolia Park apartment complex located on the 2000 block of Vandivere Road. The incident was the culmination of a confrontation that began over allegations of a soured drug deal.
