Gregory Cooke, a 43-year-old African American male, was fatally shot on June 15, 2017, in Augusta, Georgia. Cooke, who was an off-duty deputy with the Richmond County Sheriff's Office, was involved in a domestic dispute at a residence on Lennox Drive. The altercation escalated, resulting in gunfire that led to Cooke being shot. He was transported to Augusta University Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
