On a summer evening in Baltimore, Maryland, the life of 53-year-old Jacqueline Parker, an African-American female, was tragically cut short in a brazen act of violence. On July 7, 2015, Parker was with a group of people near the University of Maryland-Baltimore campus when two vans suddenly pulled up. Two gunmen emerged and unleashed a hail of gunfire into the crowd, killing Parker and two other individuals, 34-year-old Gerald Thompson and 39-year-old Lamont Randall.
A fourth person was also injured in the attack.
The shooting, which took place on the 900 block of West Fayette Street, was described by authorities as a targeted and not a random act of violence. Despite the proximity to the university, police confirmed that no students were involved in the incident. Investigators have explored potential gang-related motives as a factor in the deadly assault. At the time of the incident, Parker's last known address was just a few blocks away from where she was killed.
In the aftermath of the shooting, Baltimore police launched an investigation into the triple homicide. However, the gunmen, who fled the scene in the two vans, have not been publicly identified. To date, no arrests have been made in connection with the murders of Jacqueline Parker, Gerald Thompson, and Lamont Randall, and the case remains unsolved.
