On the night of February 5, 2022, 19-year-old Jonny Cruz was tragically shot and killed during an illegal car rally in southwest Bakersfield, California. The incident occurred around 10:57 p.m. in the parking lot of a shopping center on the 2300 block of White Lane. According to the Kern County Coroner's Office, Cruz was transported to Kern Medical, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
