Silvestre Soto, a 49-year-old tow truck driver from Bakersfield, California, was found dead on March 20, 2014. His body was discovered next to a vehicle in an orchard near the intersection of Neumarkel Road and Edison Highway, several miles east of Bakersfield. The discovery was made by a worker who noticed the vehicle parked in an unusual location and decided to investigate. Upon finding Soto's body, the worker alerted the authorities.
