On March 15, 2025, the body of Landis William Ornellas Wilkins III, a 39-year-old Hispanic male from Whittier, California, was discovered in the 9400 block of Alfred Harrell Highway in Bakersfield. The Kern County Coroner's Office confirmed his identity and determined that he died from a gunshot wound, classifying the death as a homicide.
