On March 2, 2024, at approximately 7:39 a.m., deputies from the Kern County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of an unresponsive individual near the intersection of Flower and Owens Streets in east Bakersfield, California. Upon arrival, they discovered 22-year-old Johnny Lee Romeriz Castro, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
