Patrolman Hugh J. Enright of the New York City Police Department was tragically killed in the line of duty on March 20, 1904, in Manhattan, New York. On that fateful day, Enright was attempting to apprehend two burglary suspects who had been spotted breaking into a bakery at 901 Third Avenue.
