Francisco Mercedez, a 29-year-old aspiring rapper, was tragically shot and killed on August 17, 2014, in Manhattan, New York. The incident occurred around 3 a.m. outside a deli located at Broadway and 151st Street in Hamilton Heights. Mercedez, along with his friend Kenny Jimenez, 21, was chatting with a group of people when a gunman approached and opened fire. Mercedez was shot in the back, while Jimenez was shot in the neck. Both men succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
