Louis J. Balsamo, a police officer with the New York City Police Department, tragically died on December 30, 2013, at the age of 70. His death was a direct result of injuries sustained 38 years earlier, on April 18, 1975, while responding to a report of gunshots fired at 454 State Street in Brooklyn, New York.
