On May 1, 2023, 36-year-old Springfield, Massachusetts resident Cleveland Clay was fatally shot in Brooklyn, New York. The incident occurred around 8:00 p.m. behind 889 Sheffield Avenue in East New York. Clay sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was transported to Brookdale University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
