In the East New York section of Brooklyn on March 19, 2019, a 21-year-old male named Tyquan Eversley was chased by a group of approximately 10 men in what police described as a 'brutal and brazen' gang-related killing. The pursuit began around 5:15 p.m. near New Lots Avenue and Cleveland Street, where Eversley was punched in the face without provocation before he fled. The chase that ensued was captured on surveillance video, showing Eversley running for his life through streets and backyards.
