John Silinsky, a 58-year-old police officer from Yonkers, NY, tragically lost his life on September 30, 1982, after being shot in the head while off duty. The incident occurred on September 26, 1982, when Officer Silinsky attempted to thwart a robbery at the Major Deegan Motel in the Bronx, where he worked as a night manager.
