Death by Force

On the evening of March 3, 2022, the life of Blake Alcott Myers, a 34-year-old Black / African American man, was tragically cut short in a residential neighborhood of Des Moines, Iowa. Just a few blocks from the Iowa State Capitol, the sound of gunfire shattered the night, leading to the city's third homicide of the year. When police and paramedics arrived at the scene, they found Myers suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal.
