On September 23, 1977, 36-year-old Earl Franklin "Frank" Goff was fatally shot upon entering his parents' home at 612 SE Jackson Avenue in Des Moines, Iowa. According to reports, his brothers, Jerry and George, had taunted him into coming to the residence. As Frank walked through the door, he was immediately shot in the neck and succumbed to his injuries the following day.
