On May 31, 2023, 19-year-old Daquon Powell was fatally shot in Yonkers, New York, in what authorities have described as a targeted assassination linked to gang violence. The incident occurred around 8:20 p.m. on Morris Street, where Powell was ambushed while sitting in his car. An assailant approached the driver's side window and fired six shots, striking Powell multiple times.
