James Hardy, a 41-year-old Black male from Yonkers, was shot just after midnight on August 11, 2025, during an argument on the sidewalk near 30 Cliff Street. Officers arrived within minutes to find him suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest; they rendered aid before he was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities later identified him publicly as James Hardy of Yonkers.
