In the city of Utica, New York, a young life was abruptly cut short on April 16, 2014. Darquell Zamir Carter, a 22-year-old male, was fatally shot while in a car on the 1500 block of Oneida Street. The incident left the local community in shock and his family devastated. At the time of his death, Carter was a student at Mohawk Valley Community College and was known for his vibrant personality. He was a father, leaving behind a young son, Darquell Jr.
