John E. Creedon, a 30-year-old patrolman with the Utica Police Department, tragically lost his life on February 18, 1909, after being mortally wounded in the line of duty. On February 10, 1909, while walking his beat, Patrolman Creedon interrupted a burglary in progress at a sporting goods store on Blandina Street.
