On a Sunday afternoon, February 6, 2022, in Utica, New York, 43-year-old Aaron Vernell Higgs was fatally shot in the back of the head while sitting in the passenger seat of a car. The incident occurred at approximately 1:55 p.m. outside the Fastrac convenience store located at 1800 Genesee Street. Utica Police Department officers responded to the scene and pronounced Higgs deceased upon their arrival.
