In the summer of 2014, a tragic event unfolded in the Highbridge section of the Bronx. William Sands, a 51-year-old man, was fatally shot on the evening of Thursday, July 31st. The incident occurred just across the street from his own home, shattering the peace of the neighborhood.
That night, police responded to a call and discovered Sands on the second-floor landing of a building on West 165th Street, between Anderson and Woodycrest Avenues. He had sustained a gunshot wound to the head.
