On July 21, 2024, at approximately 4:13 p.m., 52-year-old Jose Baez was fatally shot in the head near 2010 Bruckner Boulevard in the Castle Hill neighborhood of the Bronx. Emergency responders transported him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was pronounced dead.
