In the early morning hours of a warm August Saturday in the Bronx, the life of 23-year-old Shane Sanchez was tragically cut short by gunfire. The fatal incident unfolded just before 2 a.m. outside of 2765 Sampson Avenue, within the NYCHA Throgs Neck Houses where Sanchez resided. Responding to a 911 call, police officers arrived to find Sanchez on the ground with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was emergently transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was pronounced dead.
