On November 15, 2019, Tory Barnes, a 29-year-old resident of the Bronx, New York, was fatally shot in front of 116 West 176th Street in the Morris Heights neighborhood. The incident occurred around 8:30 PM, when police responded to reports of an assault. Upon arrival, officers discovered Barnes with gunshot wounds to his arm and leg. He was immediately transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
