On a summer evening in the Bronx, the life of 20-year-old Armani Womack was tragically cut short. On July 7, 2017, just before 10:30 p.m., Womack was standing with a group of people outside a deli on Boston Road in the Williamsbridge section when a man in a black hooded sweatshirt approached. The man drew a gun and opened fire, striking Womack in the neck and torso. A 29-year-old man who was with Womack was also hit by the gunfire, sustaining a wound to his buttock.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene, but Womack's injuries were too severe, and he was pronounced dead. The other victim was expected to recover.
