On January 24, 2015, Shantai Hale, a 31-year-old computer analyst from Queens, New York, was tragically killed in a mass shooting at her home in Springfield Gardens. The incident, which occurred early in the morning, also claimed the lives of her seven-year-old daughter, Kayla Walker, and her 62-year-old mother, Viola Warren.
