On Halloween night in 2014, a tragic shooting outside a Queens nightclub claimed the life of 20-year-old Tamar Sermons. The incident unfolded in the early morning hours of October 31st, near Club Hive on Queens Boulevard. An unruly crowd had been dispersed from the club, and shortly after, gunfire erupted into the group of people outside. Sermons, a resident of Springfield Gardens, was struck in the neck and leg. She was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
