On January 7, 1995, 15-year-old Carla Lopez was among six victims brutally murdered in a Queens, New York, apartment. The assailants, armed with knives and a 9mm pistol equipped with a silencer, invaded the residence with the intent to rob and settle a debt. When their demands for money were unmet, they resorted to violence, fatally shooting and stabbing the occupants.
