Deaza Barkley, a 17-year-old African American girl from Brooklyn, New York, tragically lost her life on February 15, 2025, in Queens. She was fatally shot in the head while at a friend's house in Jamaica, Queens. The incident occurred when a 16-year-old boy was reportedly handling a firearm, which discharged and struck Barkley.
